Safe Yakima YOUTH
About Safe Yakima YOUTH
Safe Yakima YOUTH (Youth and Others United/Unidos Towards Health) is a community coalition working to empower our young people to make positive, healthy, and safe choices. Our coalition supports and provides access to evidence based programs that decrease the use, misuse, and abuse of marijuana and alcohol. All programs are approved through the Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery through the Washington Department of Social and Health Services.
As a state and as a community, we believe in the future of our youth. We believe that with the help of their families, friends, and communities, all youth have bright and successful futures ahead of them.
Safe Yakima YOUTH currently provides Strengthening Families Classes (10-14 year olds), PAX Good Behavior Game, and positive social normalizing campaigns to the Yakima area. With the support of a high school prevention club at Davis, not only are adults receiving information on substance prevention, but our students are also receiving the support and guidance they need.
Safe Yakima YOUTH partners with other coalitions in the county to work together to bring positive social change. Safe Yakima YOUTH meets the first Tuesday of every month at ESD 105.
